5 Famous Dinosaur Movies to Get Kids Excited for Their Party

Dinosaurs have fascinated kids for generations. Their size, mystery, and unique appearances spark imaginations and make them perfect stars for both movies and themed parties. If you’re planning a dinosaur-themed celebration with Dinosaur Kingdoms, a great way to build excitement before the big day is with a dino movie marathon! Here are five famous dinosaur movies that kids (and adults) will love watching together.

1. The Land Before Time (1988)

"The Land Before Time" is a classic that has charmed audiences for over 30 years. This animated adventure follows Littlefoot, a young dinosaur, who goes on an epic journey with friends to find the Great Valley. Along the way, they face challenges, make new friends, and learn valuable lessons about friendship and bravery. The story’s heartwarming message and lovable characters make it a perfect choice for younger children who are excited about meeting Dinosaur Kingdoms’ dino characters.

2. Dinosaur (2000)

Disney’s "Dinosaur" tells the story of Aladar, a young Iguanodon raised by lemurs. After a meteor shower devastates their world, Aladar and his family join a group of migrating dinosaurs in search of a safe new home. The stunning CGI animation, which was groundbreaking for its time, will captivate kids as they watch Aladar’s journey of resilience and friendship. "Dinosaur" also highlights themes of teamwork and courage, perfect messages for young audiences to take away.

3. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009)

"Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" is part of the popular "Ice Age" series, and it introduces kids to some fun dinosaur characters. When Sid the Sloth stumbles upon three dinosaur eggs and decides to adopt them, he accidentally triggers a series of chaotic events that lead his friends to an underground world of dinosaurs. The movie is filled with humor, making it great for kids who enjoy a mix of action, laughs, and dinosaur adventure.

4. Jurassic Park (1993) – Kid-Friendly Version

"Jurassic Park" is a bit intense for younger viewers, but older kids will love it! If you plan to include this classic, make sure to stick with a kid-friendly version (or skip certain scenes) to avoid any scares. "Jurassic Park" brings dinosaurs to life with groundbreaking special effects and an exciting storyline. It’s a thrilling way to show kids how dinosaurs could look in real life, which will get them even more pumped for a dino party!

5. Dino Dana: The Movie (2020)

Based on the popular children’s TV series "Dino Dana," this movie follows Dana, a young paleontologist-in-training who can see dinosaurs in real life. When her dino-seeing powers are threatened, Dana embarks on an adventure to save them, meeting all kinds of dinosaurs along the way. "Dino Dana" is both fun and educational, introducing kids to different species of dinosaurs while sparking curiosity and imagination.

Why a Movie Marathon?

These dinosaur-themed movies are a great way to immerse kids in the world of dinosaurs before their party. Watching these films can help build excitement, spark curiosity, and provide some background on different types of dinosaurs they might see at Dinosaur Kingdoms. Kids will be thrilled when they recognize some of the dinosaurs they’ve seen on-screen at their very own party, creating an experience that feels magical and memorable.

So grab some popcorn, snuggle up, and let the dino adventure begin! With these movies, your kids will be roaring with excitement long before the first dinosaur arrives at their special Dinosaur Kingdoms party.

How to Plan an Amazing Dinosaur Birthday Party If your child loves dinosaurs, a dinosaur-themed birthday party can turn an ordinary celebration into a prehistoric adventure they’ll never forget. From decorations and games to live dinosaur entertainment, there are so many fun ways to bring Jurassic excitement to your backyard, school, park, or event venue. Start With a Dinosaur Theme Choose the style of dinosaur party you want to create. You can go with a realistic Jurassic adventure, a colorful kids’ dinosaur party, a fossil-dig theme, or even a dinosaur safari. Use colors like jungle green, brown, tan, orange, and black. Add tropical leaves, dinosaur footprints, caution signs, camouflage netting, inflatable dinosaurs, and prehistoric-looking plants to transform the party area. Create a Dinosaur Entrance Make guests feel like they are entering another world as soon as they arrive. Some fun ideas include: Dinosaur footprints leading to the party A “Welcome to Jurassic Park” or “Dinosaur Kingdom” sign Jungle vines and greenery Dinosaur eggs near the entrance A photo area with dinosaurs and prehistoric props A great entrance immediately gets kids excited about the adventure ahead. Plan Dinosaur Activities Kids love parties where they can participate instead of simply watching. Try activities such as a fossil dig, dinosaur egg hunt, dinosaur trivia, dinosaur dance party, coloring station, or “train like a dinosaur” obstacle course. You can also hide dinosaur eggs around the party area and let children search for them.
